83-Year-Old Man Struck & Killed by Vehicle in Citrus Heights 

Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on Sunday evening. 

An eldelry man was hit and killed by a vehicle in Citrus Heights on the Interstate 80 Freeway.

The coroner identified the victim as Mykola Khmelchenko, 83, of Sacramento. 

Per reports, the fatal crash happened around 6:10 p.m. on December 19th. 

At this time it is unclear what led to the man being struck. 

The involved driver stopped at the scene and was also fully cooperative with authorities.
