1 Hospitalized in Bakersfield After Crash

A Monday evening traffic collision left one person with major injuries on October 26th in Bakersfield.

The accident involving multi-vehicles occurred at the intersection of Highway 178 and Beale Avenue just before 7:30 p.m.

CHP reported that a Ford Explorer and two other vehicles were involved.

The three vehicles collided on the westbound side of the road for reasons unknown.

One of the vehicles overturned due to the impact which pinned someone inside of the vehicle.

The person trapped inside was rushed to a local hospital with major injuries.

Investigators are actively working to determine liability.

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.

When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.

If your injuries are caused by the negligence of a third party you may be entitled to compensation. In the event of a death, families may also be entitled to wrongful death benefits.

It is also important to remember that in the state of California a person involved in a car accident who has sustained injuries has to file a claim within two years of the accident.
