I-8 Freeway Multi-vehicle Crash

Three vehicles and a motorcycle collided on Thursday morning, September 9th, in San Diego.

The collision took place around 6 a.m. on the Interstate 8 Freeway near Hotel Circle Drive.

According to California Highway Patrol, the crash happened on the westbound side of the freeway near the off ramp.

As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist wound up on the right shoulder. They were critically injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A blue Honda Civic was among the vehicles involved, however no other vehicles have been identified.

Tow trucks were needed to remove the vehicles along with the motorcycle as they blocked off the majority of the freeway.

Investigators are actively working to determine liability.

The cause of the crash and identities of those involved has yet to be made known to the public.

Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.

When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
