Motorcycle Rider Dies in Three-Vehicle Collision
Three vehicles collided on Tuesday evening in Claremont claiming the life of a motorcyclist.
The deadly accident occurred on November 9th just minutes before 6 p.m. on the Foothill 210 Freeway.
According to CHP, the vehicles collided on the eastbound side of the freeway at the East Baseline off-ramp.
Due to the collision multiple lanes were shut down for a period of time.
Unfortunately, an unidentified motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unclear at this time if other people involved were injured.
Police are actively investigating the accident to determine liability.
Motorcycle accidents, according to the NHTSA, accounted for 14% of motor vehicle accident deaths in 2019. Motorcyclists should be fully aware of the safety challenges in which they face while riding on roads in California. Below are some tips for motorcyclists:
- Wear proper protection
- Ride responsibly
- Be knowledgeable and practice how to properly operate a motorcycle
- Ensure you are licensed prior to operating a motorcycle
In addition, when it comes to filing a claim involving multiple vehicles, it gets difficult. This is because determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
