Major Injury Motorcycle Accident on Greenback Lane and Chestnut Avenue 

Investigators are working to determine the cause of a motorcycle collision that occurred in Orangevale Wednesday morning. 

The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Greenback Lane and Chestnut Avenue. 

It is unclear what caused a Ducati motorcycle and dark blue sedan to collide on May 4th. 

Due to the impact, the motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

Police shut down the intersection for a period of time as crews worked at the scene. 

The crash remains under investigation to determine liability. 

According to statistics, approximately 80% of accidents involving a motorcycle result in injuries or death. 

Motorcycle accidents, according to the NHTSA, accounted for 14% of motor vehicle accident deaths in 2019. Motorcyclists should be fully aware of the safety challenges in which they face while riding on roads in California. Below are some tips for motorcyclists:
