Motorcyclist Omar Cruz Barrera Killed On The 110 Freeway, Slauson Ave. Exit HOV Lanes in South Los Angeles
Motorcycle Accident Reported:
On the morning of January 13, 2023, tragedy struck on the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles. Just after 6:19am, CHP officers were dispatched to the Slauson Ave exit in response to a fatal accident involving a motorcyclist (Omar Cruz Barrera) and a blue colored Honda Accord.
Officers arrived on scene to find that the motorcyclist Omar Cruz Barrera had been run over by the Accord, and sadly had succumbed to his injuries. As per protocol, it was confirmed visually by CHP officers that there was indeed an unfortunate fatality on-site.
As soon as police and medical personnel arrived on the scene, authorities began diverting traffic off of the Fast Track HOV lanes onto the main number 1 lane of the freeway.
At this time it’s still unknown why exactly this fatal accident occurred or who was at fault for it. The details surrounding this tragic accident have yet to be released publicly.
The CHP reopened all HOV lanes around 9:32am once their investigation was completed and they were able to ensure all safety protocols had been met.
