56-Year-Old Man Injured in San Ysidro Motorcycle Crash

Authorities are investigating a Wednesday afternoon traffic accident involving a motorcycle that left a 56-year-old man injured in San Ysidro.

The accident occurred at about 4:00 p.m., on November 16, on Otay Mesa Road near Beyer Boulevard.

According to the police, the 56-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Otay Mesa Road with a green light when a 44-year-old on-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent was driving northbound on East Beyer Boulevard turned left onto Beyer Boulevard with a green light.

Unfortunately, the motorcyclist crashed into the right rear door of the CBP vehicle.

The male rider sustained a fractured pelvis and kneecap, a dislocated leg, and arm pain. He was hospitalized for treatment.

Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the mishap.
