17-Year-Old ID’d in Fatal Moreno Valley Crash
One person died in a traffic collision on Sunday afternoon in Moreno Valley.
The accident was the result of a driver running a red light at the intersection of Moreno Beach Drive and Cactus Avenue.
According to authorities, 17-year-old Isaac Linares was driving north in a Lexus IS300 when he ran the red light.
As a result, his vehicle collided with an eastbound Honda Odyssey.
Due to the impact, the lexus struck a traffic light pole, causing severe injuries to Linares.
Sadly, he died at the scene of the crash. His passenger also suffered major injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.
There were also 6 occupants of the Honda who sustained minor injuries.
Authorities shut down the area for a period of time as crews worked at the scene.
An active investigation remains underway.
