9-Year-Old Girl Dies in Pedestrian Accident

Four students were struck by a vehicle following a traffic collision on Thursday afternoon in Desert Hot Springs. 

The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. on Aurora Road. 

Per reports, a Cadillac hit a school bus before continuing on and hitting a speed limit sign, then the four students.  

Sadly, 9-year-old Monica Gonzalez Guzman died twenty minutes after at the scene. 

One of the other children sustained major injuries and the other two had minor injuries.

Additionally, the driver of the Cadillac was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation.
