Two-Vehicle Crash Results in Rollover
Investigators are working to determine liability regarding a two-vehicle collision in Mission Hills on Monday morning.
The accident took place at 6:48 a.m. on January 31st within the northbound lanes of the I-405 Freeway.
Per CHP, a Toyota Prius and GMC Envoy SUV collided for unknown reasons.
As a result, the Prius overturned and landed on top of the center divider.
There was also a SigAlert issued due to vehicles blocking the HOV and No. 1 lanes.
Details regarding injuries have yet to be provided at this time; however, paramedics did respond to the scene to provide aid.
An active investigation is underway.
Rollovers account for only 3% of all serious collisions; however, 30% of them result in a fatality.
According to the NHTSA, almost 80% of rollovers involve one car. Additionally, roughly 250,000 vehicles that are involved in a rollover are left undriveable.
