Traffic Crash on Interstate 680 and Highway 84
A total of seven vehicles collided on Wednesday, January 5th in Fremont, CA.
The pileup occurred just minutes after 3:30 p.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 680.
Upon impact, one of the involved vehicles, a Toyota pickup, became overturned on its side. A Nissan Frontier also sustained major damage to its rear.
In addition, a Hyuandi Santa Fe, Chevy Astro van, and three other vehicles were among those involved.
It is unclear at this time what led to the collision, which took place at the eastbound Highway 84 connector.
CHP reported that minor injuries were sustained as a result; however, it is unclear how many people were injured.
Authorities also shut down the No. 1 lane temporarily for cleanup and investigation purposes.
Multi-vehicle collisions are typically more common in busy intersections or highways. Speeding, weather, distractions, and drowsy or intoxicated driving are main reasons negligent drivers cause these types of wrecks.
When it comes to filing a claim with this type of collision, it gets difficult. This is because multiple vehicles are involved so determining liability can take much longer. Multi-vehicle collision claims are more complex due to numerous victims, multiple negligent drivers, cross-claims and insufficient insurance.
