Victim Seeking Public’s Help to Find Hit-and-Run Suspect

Miguel Velazquez, 30, was struck by a car while riding his moped on August 14th in Downtown LA.

Velazquez had just got off work and was stopped at the intersection of Flower and 3rd Street when the incident occurred.

The involved driver was in a blue Mini Cooper and fled the scene after slowing down for a brief moment.

A witness helped Velazquez get to the curb following the crash.

The victim sustained a broken wrist and a few bruises as a result.

Authorities are giving a reward of $25,000 to anyone who has information on the suspect.

An active investigation remains underway.

Hit-and-run collisions account for almost 6 deaths per day and there is at least one per minute in the U.S.

Always make sure to wear a seatbelt, obey traffic laws, and avoid distractions while driving.

If your injuries are caused by the negligence of a third party you may be entitled to compensation.

It is also important to remember that in the state of California a person involved in a car accident who has sustained injuries has to file a claim within two years of the accident.
