Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Standing Rock Avenue

Michael Carvajal, a 64-year-old male, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred Saturday on State Highway 18 Outer North.

According to Victor Valley News Group, Carvajal was laying for an unknown reason in the westbound lane of the highway. Earlier reports indicated the driver of an oncoming 2015 Mazda 3 did not notice the pedestrian, and run him over. The horrible crash took place near Standing Rock Avenue.

Deadly Pedestrian Accident on Highway 18 in Apple Valley

Deputies from the Apple Valley Station; emergency personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District; and American Medical Response responded to the accident scene shortly after 6:11 p.m. The article published online mentioned paramedics performed life-saving measures to the man lying on the ground. Sadly, the victim succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Sheriff’s officials later identified the deceased as Michael Carvajal.

Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver involved in the unfortunate event.

Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on Highway 18 in Apple Valley.
