Rider Dies in Collision Near Hill Street

Michael Barrios, a 69-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred Wednesday on Atascadero Road.

The KEYT News reported Barrios was riding a motorcycle heading east on Atascadero. In the 500 block of Atascadero Road, just east of Hill Street, a truck exited from the driveway of a business and entered the traffic lanes. In the process, the truck hit the motorcyclist.

Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Atascadero Road in Morro Bay

Shortly after 1:45 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the rider suffering in serious injuries. According to the article published online, paramedics rushed the victim to a local hospital. The patient later succumbed to his injuries and sadly passed away. The Morro Bay Police Department identified the deceased as Michael Barrios.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck appeared unharmed after the incident.

Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal crash that happened on Atascadero Road in Morro Bay.
