20-Year-Old Woman ID’d in Major-Injury Collision

A major-injury traffic accident left 20-year-old Zoe Maria Canto hurt on Saturday afternoon. 

It was reported that a Chevrolet Silverado and Freightliner were involved in the crash.

At about 1:47 p.m. Canto was traveling east on Williams Avenue when she stopped at the stop sign at Highway 165. 

When she proceeded through the intersection, her vehicle was struck by a southbound Freightliner.

Upon impact, the woman of Atwater was ejected onto the roadway. She sustained serious injuries and was treated at Doctors Medical Center.

The driver of the Freightliner, which was pulling two trailers, has been ID’d as Ruben Sicairos, 56. 

Sicairos was left unharmed and was fully cooperative following the wreck.

Investigators are actively working to piece together all of the details of the accident.

  • Call 911 if there are any injuries 
  • Get vehicle to safety if it is moveable, if it is not, put on hazards
  • Exchange information with others involved and document everything 
  • Call 911 to report accident – they determine who was at fault
