Elderly Woman Killed in Truck Crash in Merced 

75-year-old Maria Zaragoza was killed in a two-vehicle collision last Thursday, September 8th. 

The Planada woman was a passenger in one of the involved vehicles that crashed on East Childs Avenue and Kibby Road. 

A truck was reportedly turning left when it collided with the vehicle that Zaragoza was in. The driver also suffered major injuries and was hospitalized. She was ID’d as Fedelina Gonzalez. 

Unfortunately, Zaragoza died at the scene. 

An active investigation remains underway.
