Melissa Lopez Killed in Crash in Lake Elsinore

The Coroner’s Office has identified 22-year-old Melissa Lopez of Lake Elsinore as woman Killed in a traffic collision on Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore early Monday morning.

The incident happened at around 3:15 a.m. on the southbound , just south of Highway 74.

A preliminary investigation revealed a white Chevrolet Cruz rear-ended a tow truck, causing the vehicle to get stuck underneath a truck.

Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
