A pedestrian crash killed Matthew Chachere and Jennifer Besser in San Luis Obispo.

Police identified the San Luis Obispo couple as victims in the fatal accident which took place last week on Tuesday.

The incident happened when Matthew Chachere, 39, and Jennifer Besser, 36, were walking their dog in the city of San Luis Obispo.

Police believed that a car struck them near the intersection of Sacramento Drive and Basil Lane. The Tribune and The Modesto Bee wrote that the collision occurred on November 22 at around 5:35 p.m.

Couple Hit by Car

Officers initially received a report of a dead dog in a creekbed near the 3400 block of Sacramento Drive. A day before, a vehicle reportedly crashed in the area near where police saw the bodies.

The car hit the curb, a street sign and the bridge that covers the creek. Paramedics found Matthew Chachere and Jennifer Besser dead under dense brush following the pedestrian accident.

Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 24-year-old San Luis Obispo man driving the car was cooperating with the questioning. Excessive speed possibly played a role in the incident.
