Man & Woman Killed in Truck Accident on Malaga Highway

Three people were killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Friday in Arvin.

The accident took place on September 9th at about 10:00 p.m. on Malaga Highway and Sunset Boulevard.

According to CHP, the tractor-trailer failed to stop at a stop-sign at the intersection, causing a collision with a Honda.

Martha Alicia Flores, 48, was the driver of the Honda.

Flores, along with her passengers, Monte Harold Johnson, 65, and Carlos Serna, 51, sadly died as a result. All three occupants were residents of Arvin.

An active investigation remains underway.

JT Legal Group sends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Martha Flores, Monte Johnson, and Carlos Serna.

Statistics have shown that approximately 70% of motor-vehicle accidents are a result of stop sign violations. These accidents often happen at an angle rather than head on and about one-third result in some sort of injury.

Although stop signs are in place to prevent accidents, unfortunately not everyone adheres. This is why it is essential to always pay attention and avoid any distractions on the road.
