Man Killed in Wrong-Way Collision in Indio, CA

38-year-old Ronald Cook was killed Thursday morning after a fatal wrong-way crash on Avenue 42. The accident happened shortly after 7:00 a.m. on May 27, just west of Jackson Street.

According to authorities, Cook collided head-on with an oncoming pickup truck while he was driving westbound. After the crash, a vehicle behind the truck also collided with it.

When paramedics arrived at the scene they immediately transported Cook to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced dead a few hours after the incident. Cook’s passenger was also taken to the hospital with major injuries. Subsequently, several others who were involved in the crash were treated for minor injuries.
