Deadly Hit-and-Run on East Avenue Q-4 

An unidentified man was hit and killed by a vehicle in Palmdale on Tuesday evening. 

The incident occurred at 7:35 p.m. on January 25th on East Avenue Q-4. 

Reports stated that the involved driver fled the scene and now authorities are in search of the suspect. 

The victim was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital where he unfortunately died later as a result of his injuries. 

There is currently no description of the suspect’s vehicle and any witnesses are advised to contact the Palmdale Police Department. 

An active investigation is underway. 

According to statistics, 20% of pedestrian fatalities include fleeing drivers. In addition, 68% of those killed in hit-and-run crashes are pedestrians and bicyclists. 

There was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.

In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
