Deadly Car Accident on 405 North Freeway in Hawthorne

Man killed after deadly car accident on 405 North Freeway in Hawthorne. Around 3:38 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, a Ford Mustang and a Chevy Camaro collided near El Segundo Boulevard, according to California Highway Patrol. This deadly car accident left both vehicles overturned, which called for the closure of all northbound lanes.

When officers and firefighter-paramedics arrived at the scene, they found a man trapped inside the Mustang. The male victim was declared dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department, according to CHP officer Del Rosario.

The CHP is currently investigating the cause of the crash. However, authorities currently believe alcohol may be a factor.
