Man Dead After Fiery Crash

A 63-year-old Dryden man has died as a result of a crash.

Around 6 p.m. on Oct. 30, Freeville Fire Department and Dryden Ambulance were sent to the intersection of West Dryden Road and Sheldon Road for a two-vehicle accident.

63-year-old Daniel Heath, of Dryden — who was stuck in the burning car — was taken to SUNY Upstate Medical Center, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The other driver was taken to Upstate Medical Center by ambulance with unspecified injuries that were believed to be non-life-threatening, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.

Police determined that Heath was driving south on Sheldon Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign.
