Camino Real Accident Results in Injuries
A child and male adult were struck by a vehicle in Jurupa Valley on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred within the 4600 block of Camino Real near Camino Real Elementary.
A local news source reported that a sedan swerved into a grassy area, thus hitting the child and man.
Paramedics treated the child for minor injuries at the scene and the man was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The involved driver also stayed at the scene and was fully cooperative with authorities.
Additionally, authorities shut down a section of the road for investigation purposes.
Investigators are working to determine what may have factored into the crash.
According to statistics, there was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.
In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.

- Avoid distractions (use of headphones, cell phone)
- Obey traffic laws & signals
- Always use crosswalk
