Deadly Pedestrian Crash at Roberts Lane and Airport Drive
An unidentified man was hit and killed by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Wednesday night.
Reports included that the incident took place at 9:38 p.m. at Roberts Lane and Airport Drive.
A Chevrolet Silverado struck the man in the area for unknown reasons. He unfortunately died as a result.
It was also reported that the driver fled the scene then returned later to cooperate with authorities.
An active investigation remains underway.
There was a 26% increase in pedestrian deaths in California from 2014-2018.
In addition, California’s pedestrian fatality rate is about 25% higher than the national average.
