One Left in Critical Condition After Crash

A pedestrian of Oakland was left in critical condition following an accident Wednesday night in the Adams Point area.

A driver of a silver Toyota Camry traveling west on Grand Avenue struck the 23-year-old man while he walked in a marked crosswalk, according to news reports. The accident happened at around 9:30 p.m. on July 21st at Perkins Street.

When paramedics responded to the scene of the Oakland pedestrian accident, they rendered aid to all possible victims. Ultimately, the man was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment of his injuries. Authorities did not release his identity.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Oakland woman driving the car and her passenger did not sustain any injuries. It was reported that the driver stopped and cooperated with investigators.

Although police did not suspect speed was a factor, they haven’t ruled out if drugs or alcohol were factors. Police did not mention if there were any citations or arrests.
