Major Motorcycle Crash Reported in Kern County

A motorcycle accident took place in Kern County in the Derby Acres area on Highway 33.

The crash involved a motorcycle and a Chevrolet 3500 pickup truck and happened at about 5:58 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol group. The man riding the bike sustained major injuries in the wreck. Emergency crew responded and found the man laying unconscious in the roadway. Meanwhile, the injured motorcyclist was taken to Kern County Medical Center for further treatment of his injuries.

Reports stated that the vehicles involved blocked the southbound lanes in front of Seneca Resources for several hours. Police are reviewing evidence on scene and speaking with the pickup truck driver and witnesses to determine what led to the Highway 33 motorcycle accident.

Further information on the victim has not yet been released.
