Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt Following Crash on Cabrillo Boulevard 

A motorcyclist and truck collided for unknown reasons in Santa Barbara on Thursday afternoon, July 21st. 

It was around 2 p.m. when the accident occurred within the 300 block of East Cabrillo Boulevard. 

Due to the impact, the rider lost his helmet and was thrown about 30 feet into the air. 

Paramedics treated the rider at the scene and rushed him to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with severe injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation. 

According to statistics, approximately 80% of accidents involving a motorcycle result in injuries or death.
