Pickup Truck and Motorcycle Collide in Redding
Serious injuries were sustained after a pickup truck and motorcycle collided on Wednesday afternoon in Redding.
It was reported on November 3rd at about 4:14 p.m. at the intersection of Daniels Lane and Bear Mountain Road.
According to reports, the driver of the pickup became trapped inside of his vehicle after the motorcycle crashed into him.
He called 911 to report the incident and get help.
As a result, one of the persons involved suffered a broken clavicle and was sent to a local hospital via ambulance.
It was also discovered that one of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
