1 Injured in Crash on Channel Islands and Rice Avenue 

Investigators are working to determine liability regarding a two-vehicle collision in Oxnard on Saturday evening. 

The crash involved a Volvo and Hyundai, which resulted in the Hyundai being sent off the roadway. 

According to CHP, the accident occurred at 6:40 p.m. on Channel Islands and Rice Avenue 

One unidentified person suffered major injuries as a result. 

Authorities also shut down the intersection for a period of time following the accident. 

The crash remains under investigation.

  • Call 911 if there are any injuries 
  • Get vehicle to safety if it is moveable, if it is not, put on hazards
  • Exchange information with others involved and document everything 
  • Call 911 to report accident – they determine who was at fault
