Woman Airlifted Following Accident at Main Street and Big Break Road

An impaired driver caused a major-injury collision in Oakley, California Saturday night. 

The Oakley Police Department reported that the crash took place just before 9 p.m. on June 25th.

Malcolm Shephard, 25, was driving under the influence before he crashed into a car driven by an unidentified woman. 

The accident took place at the intersection of Main Street and Big Break Road. 

First responders arrived and found the woman bleeding from her head. She was flown to John Muir Medical Center in critical condition. 

Shephard was later arrested on possession of drugs for sale, possession of a loaded handgun, as well as suspicion of DUI.

An active investigation remains underway.

  • Get vehicle to safety if it is moveable, if it is not, put on hazards
