Lyft Passenger Killed Following Palmdale Hit-and-Run Racing Crash

Lyft passenger Spechelle Pope, 28, was killed following a hit-and-run street racing crash that happened in Palmdale.

According to several news reports, Pope was one of two victims in the crash which happened at around 12:30 a.m. The accident occurred when Pope was riding Toyota Corolla on Rancho Vista Boulevard in Palmdale.

Meanwhile, a Dodge Challenger was traveling at high speeds, possibly racing another vehicle, when it slammed into the rear of the Toyota. The Toyota spun out of control and hit a nearby light pole.

The Toyota rolled over and burst into flames. The man driving the Lyft vehicle was thrown out of the car as a result of the crash. Paramedics pronounced Spechelle Pope and the other victim dead at the scene.

The motorist left the vehicle and rode an Infiniti. The Challenger is registered to EAN Holdings LLC., which operates Enterprise, National, and Alamo car rentals.
