Lucerne Valley Motorhome Rollover Crash
Two people were left in critical condition following a motorhome collision on Monday morning.
The crash occurred on October 4th around 9:24 a.m. near the Mitsubishi Cement Plant on Highway 18.
According to CHP reports, the motorhome overturned and landed back on its wheels after crashing into a ravine.
One occupant of the RV complained of severe back pain and both were seriously injured following the crash.
Two helicopters were also called by San Bernardino County Firefighters who arrived at the scene.
Investigators are working to determine what may have factored into the scene.
Statistics show that rollover accidents account for about one-third of all fatalities in the U.S. In addition, 30% of vehicle fatalities are rollover crashes. These types of accidents are far more likely to result in a fatality than non-rollover crashes.
In the U.S. one’s odds of dying in a car accident is around 1 in 107.
