110 Freeway Crash Leaves Officers Hurt
A Sunday morning collision in Los Angeles left three LAPD officers injured on February 13th.
The accident took place at 3:24 a.m. on the 110 Freeway near Figueroa Street.
A police vehicle reportedly collided with another vehicle under unclear circumstances in downtown LA.
Upon impact, two of the officers sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized in critical condition.
Additionally, a third officer suffered major injuries.
The other involved driver stayed at the scene and was fully cooperative with authorities.
Further details will be provided once an investigation is concluded.
Law enforcement officers face multiple hazards when driving. Some that may put them at risk while on duty are:
- Speeding through intersections
- Distracted by usage of electronic device/radio
- Tunnel vision from stress and/or overly focused
- Not wearing a seatbelt
