Fatal San Diego Collision Leaves Woman Dead 

A San Ysidro woman ID’d as Leticia Gutierrez De Ordaz, 64, died Tuesday morning in a traffic collision.

The accident took place on April 12th just before 11 a.m. within the northbound lanes of the I-5 Freeway. 

De Ordaz was riding passenger in a Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by a 63-year-old man. 

The man reportedly drifted across traffic lanes and collided with a Volkswagen Jetta as a result. 

Upon impact, the truck overturned, causing the woman to be ejected. 

She was transported to UC San Diego Medical Center with major injuries and sadly died at the hospital. 

The pickup truck driver also sustained major injuries and was taken to the hospital. 

In addition, the 24-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen was trapped inside of the car. She was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
