Leonel Tovar Melgar Killed in Lancaster, CA

The crash happened at about 4:46 p.m. near the intersection of Avenue K and 17th Street East. According to the Sheriff’s Station in Lancaster, Melgar was a passenger in a Honda. The Honda was headed east on Avenue K, when the driver lost control of the car and crossed over the raised center median.

Melgar sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. It’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. The crash remains under investigation.
