Laura Eiddert Arrested on DUI Charge Following Multi-Vehicle Collision
37-year-old Laura Eiddert was arrested Tuesday night for driving under the influence after she hit multiple vehicles.
The crash took place around 8:02 p.m. on September 14th on Highway 273.
Eiddert was reportedly leaving the casino when she drove the wrong way on the highway, leading to multiple collisions.
She was driving her 2015 Kia Sorento northbound prior to driving southbound and crashing into a Ford F-250.
As a result of the incidents, the highway was shut down for about an hour.
Eiddert was heavily intoxicated after authorities administered a sobriety test and was arrested for multiple hit-and-run collisions along with DUI.
Additional information regarding the other parties involved has yet to be made known.
According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
