Deadly Semi-Truck Collision in East Valley

A semi-truck and Ford E-350 van collided on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas around 9 a.m.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Mojave Road on December 31st.

The van was reportedly driving eastbound as the semi was turning left into its path.

Both vehicles collided and the 68-year-old male driver of the van was transported to University Medical Center with injuries.

Sadly, the man ended up succumbing to his injuries on Wednesday, January 8th, a week later.

No injuries were reported from the semi-truck driver; however, he did stop at the scene and cooperate with authorities.

The identity of the deceased has yet to be made public.

According to the NHTSA, left turns account for 22.2% of all collisions. Drivers who are making a left-turn are expected to yield to traffic before making a turn, so they are the ones at fault if an accident occurs.

In addition, 38% of all motor-vehicle accidents take place within an intersection.

If your injuries are caused by the negligence of a third party you may be entitled to compensation. In the event of a death, families may also be entitled to wrongful death benefits.
