Two Seriously Hurt Following Two-Vehicle Collision

Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Maroney Avenue in Las Vegas on Sunday evening.

The crash took place around 6:30 p.m. as the result of an impaired driver.

A Scion TC was reportedly speeding on Sahara Avenue before crashing into a Dodge Dart that was making a left turn.

As a result, the driver of the Dodge suffered critical injuries and was taken to Sunrise Hospital. The 30-year-old driver of the Scion also suffered moderate injuries and was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The impaired driver is facing two counts of DUI resulting in substantial harm and two counts of reckless driving involving death or personal injury.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.

If your injuries are caused by the negligence of a third party you may be entitled to compensation. In the event of a death, families may also be entitled to wrongful death benefits.
