Man Killed in Bus Crash on Riverside Street

A school bus and Chevrolet HHR collided in Lake Elsinore on Thursday morning, resulting in a death. 

The accident took place just after 6:30 a.m. on May 12th. 

Per CHP, 57-year-old Anthony Ramirez, of Lake Elsinore, sadly died as a result.

It is unclear at this time what caused the accident on Riverside Street near Highway 74.

One person had to be extricated from the Chevrolet due to the impact. 

Emergency personnel transported Ramirez to Inland Valley Medical Center where he was sadly pronounced dead. 

There was also a student who suffered a possible fractured leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment. 

Investigators are actively working to determine fault.
