Man Killed in Victorville DUI Collision 

30-year-old Lacey Vickers, of Barstow, was arrested following a deadly accident in Victorville on Sunday night. 

The woman was under the influence when she collided with a Cadillac sedan around 11:06 p.m.

According to reports, the collision occurred on Village Drive on February 6th. 

Vickers was driving a Jeep, heading north, when she hit the southbound Cadillac head-on. 

Upon impact, the woman’s vehicle became engulfed in flames and police had to shatter the window to get her out. 

She sustained major injuries and was taken to a trauma center for treatment. 

Unfortunately, the 55-year-old male driver of the Cadillac was declared dead at the scene. 

Vickers is facing charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and suspicion of driving under the influence, causing death. She will be booked at West Valley Detention Center after being released from the hospital. 

It has also been reported that Vickers has had previous DUI arrests. 

A portion of all northbound and southbound lanes were shut down for several hours pending cleanup and investigation.

According to NHTSA, more than a quarter (25%) of accident-related deaths are linked to the use of alcohol. With that being said, according to the CDC, there are 30 people that are killed everyday in a car accident as a result of an alcohol-impaired driver. That is equivalent to one death every 50 minutes.
