One Killed and Another Injured in Fatal Collision on Jack Tone Road

A fatal collision occurred in Stockton Saturday night as the result of an impaired driver.

The accident took place on June 11th at about 9:15 p.m. on Jack Tone Road. 

A Volkswagen Jetta was traveling at a high rate of speed before hitting a Kawasaki cart driven by Kurt Petttt, 56, of Escalon. 

Both Kurt, and his passenger, Lynda Pettitt, were ejected from the vehicle.

Sadly, Kurt was declared dead at the scene. 

In addition, Lynda suffered moderate injuries and was taken to San Joaquin General Hospital for treatment. 

It was also reported that the driver of the Jetta was swerving across lanes prior to the accident. 

He sustained minor injuries and was arrested on DUI charges. He has yet to be identified and is currently being held at San Joaquin County Jail.

The crash remains under investigation.
