8-Year-Old Boy Fatally Struck by Vehicle in San Jose

A pedestrian accident killed an 8-year-old boy and injured his babysitter in San Jose on Friday morning. 

The incident occurred just minutes after 8 a.m. on Castlemont Avenue at Driftwood Drive. 

Juana Robledo, 44, and the boy, Jacob Villanueva, were crossing at the intersection when a Mercedes Crossover struck them. 

Both sustained major injuries and were rushed to the hospital where the boy sadly died. 

Robledo suffered a broken leg. 

No injuries were reported from the driver or the passenger of the vehicle. 

An investigation is ongoing.
