Deadly Pedestrian Accident at G & 5th Street 

82-year-old Josefa Blandon was hit and killed by a Merced police officer Thursday night on April 7th.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. at the intersection of G and 5th Street. 

It is unclear at this time what caused the police officer to hit the woman. 

Unfortunately, she sustained major injuries and was declared dead at the scene. 

CHP is actively investigating the accident.
