John Crouch Killed in Fatal Bicycle Crash on Pacific Coast Highway
John Crouch, 68, was identified as the bicyclist who was killed on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) Thursday afternoon. The tragic incident took place around 1:35 p.m. on PCH at 1st Street in Huntington Beach, CA.
According to reports, Crouch was riding his bike across the PCH when a silver Toyota Yaris headed westbound struck him for unknown reasons. When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, Crouch was found unresponsive.
The bicyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died as a result of his injures soon after. The Yaris driver was identified as a 23-year-old man from Bloomington. The man remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. However, the CHP reported that the man was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
