27-Year-Old Man Killed in Old River Pedestrian Accident
A Bakersfield resident, identified as Jesse Sanchez, 27, was fatally struck by a vehicle last Saturday.
The incident occurred on June 25th around 3:30 a.m. on Highway 119.
Sanchez was struck in Old River by a westbound vehicle within the westbound lanes.
A driver in a Honda Accord hit the victim and fled the scene immediately after. Their vehicle, however, was abandoned nearby on Par Street.
Police shut down the highway for two hours as they conducted their investigation.
