Jeffrey Patterson, 62, Killed in Oildale Crash at Petrol and Airport

Jeffrey Patterson was killed after a crash at Petrol Road and Airport Drive in Oildale.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office identified the 62-year-old Bakersfield man as the victim in the fatal wreck which took place late last month.

The incident happened when Jeffrey Glenn Patterson was riding a motorcycle in the area of Petrol Road and Airport Drive in Oildale. For an unknown reason, a car then struck him.

Motorcycle and Car Collide

Deputies said the two collided at the intersection. The Bakersfield Californian and Bakersfield Now wrote that the collision occurred on Sunday, May 28.

Jeffrey Patterson sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed him to the Kern Medical, where he died on June 1.

Meanwhile, officials did not mention if the driver of the car stopped or stayed at the site following the wreck. Officers forced the corner of Petrol and Airport to shut down for a time after the accident.

The cause of the Oildale crash is still under investigation.
