Fatal Head-On Collision on King Salmon Avenue
A motorcycle and BMW sedan collided head-on in Eureka last Sunday, resulting in the death of Jay Lewis, 49.
The fatal collision took place on King Salmon Avenue on August 21st.
Per CHP, the driver of a BMW sedan was traveling east before trying to pass a slower vehicle.
During his attempt, he crashed head-on with a westbound Suzuki motorcycle, operated by Lewis.
Sadly, the rider was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the sedan, Dillon Thornton-Weaver, 21, was treated for minor injuries at St. Joseph Hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
