Jasmine Gomez Dies in Rollover Accident on 215 Freeway In Murrieta, CA
Jasmine Gomez died Thursday afternoon, in a rollover crash on southbound 215 Freeway.
Police officers arrived to the scene 12:00 p.m., just north of Linnel Lane.
Per reports, the driver of a Fiat 500 collided with a Dodge pickup truck towing a trailer. The Fiat then struck another vehicle nearby before hitting the center divider and rolling over in the fast lane.
Due to the severity of injuries, EMTs pronounced the Fiat driver dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
Murrieta officials later identified the deceased as 42-year-old Gomez from Hemet. Authorities indicated that the other two drivers involved were not injured in the accident.
The 30-year-old Texas man driving the pickup was not charged, but officers noted that “charges may be pending.” California Highway Patrol closed the southbound lanes of the 215 Freeway until 5:00 p.m. while crews cleared the area.
