Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Hit-and-Run Crash in Wasco

According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the accident took place on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at around 2:30 p.m. near F Street.

The incident happened on July 11 when the 78-year-old pedestrian was crossing in the 700 block of E Street in Wasco. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the victim left wounded in the roadway. The person sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel soon rushed the patient to a hospital and listed them in stable condition. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party.

Meanwhile, deputies said the male driver of the car did not stop to render aid and fled the area. They soon located the man in the 1900 block of D Street and arrested him.

Officers forced a portion of E Street to shut down for a time following the hit-and-run crash. The Wasco collision is still under investigation.
